The position

RES designs, builds, operates, and manages renewable energy assets as a company.

As a Solar Asset Monitor, you will be part of our Analysis and Operations team. You will work as part of a group and be responsible for monitoring and analysing solar farms that generate and supply electricity to the UK electricity grid. Your role will involve monitoring the outputs of our fleet of solar farms and their components and escalating technical issues to our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams, or managing technical events directly, to ensure reliable and optimum generation from the assets.

Hours:

Full-time. Up to 40 hours per week, which will include weekend working, under a flexible rota pattern, to help cover the following hours:

May – Sep: 07:30 to 18:00 Remainder of year: 08:00 to 16:30

Accountabilities

The Solar Asset Monitor will:

Monitor the solar farm fleet using monitoring software and bespoke monitoring tools Follow standard procedures to detect, analyse and diagnose potential fault events Organise the dispatching of appropriate technical resources during weekends to repair faults Track the progress of events through to resolution Update and administer systems and systems data Support O&M and local Control Centre in emergency response situations

Experience

Knowledge you will have:

Solar photovoltaic installations and components Software systems for monitoring asset/process performance is desired Electrical knowledge would be an advantage (training will be provided) Knowledge of the technical aspects of inverters would be an advantage, but not limiting (training will be provided) Power Electronics and Gamesa inverter troubleshooting is an advantage

Skills you will have:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to maintain attention for long periods and work in a highly dynamic environment Proactive decision making Microsoft Office skills to an intermediate level Ability to write and work to strict operational procedures

Desirable skills:

Experience in monitoring, control, or dispatch SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) experience Experience in using basic data analysis tools Experience in using collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams to communicate and work with colleagues would be an advantage

Qualifications

Equivalent to NVQ Level 3 English at C1 level or higher
