Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid Solar Installer position, based in North Yorkshire, with projects spanning North East and occasionally further afield.

Core Responsibilities

As a Solar Installer, you will:

  • Install solar PV systems on commercial and agricultural properties, adhering to technical drawings, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
  • Safely prepare job sites, employing hand and power tools, including mounting panels and associated infrastructure.
  • Connect electrical components with appropriate supervision or certification.
  • Work closely with a dynamic field operations team, the project manager, and electrical team members to ensure timely, in-scope installments that meet safety and quality standards.
  • Complete documentation and contribute to improving installation processes.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Familiarity with solar power and systems (basic PV principles and components will be advantageous; training is available).
  • Proficient in safely using hand and power tools in construction/installation settings.
  • Experience or interest in the solar or renewable energy sector.
  • Understanding of basic electrical safety (relevant certifications for electrical/renewables will be beneficial).
  • Willingness to work at height, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings/plans.

Commercial & Personal Attributes

  • Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a professional, customer-focused on-site approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites across Northern England.
  • Previous experience in construction, roofing, or installation work (not essential; training provided).
  • Advantageous but not required: experience with MEWPS and Telehandlers; or advanced roofwork skills.
