Position: PV/Solar Panel Installer

Location:
While we are based in Acton, our work takes us all over Ontario. Employees need a valid Ontario Driver's License and a vehicle to get to Acton and/or various installation sites. Please note: most installation sites cannot easily be reached by transit and not every work day starts or ends in Acton.
Solar Direct Canada is a small business in the Acton, ON area. We strive to provide the highest quality service to alternative energy clients across Southern Ontario. We provide PV panel design, installation and service. We are agile, innovative, and nimble, and our outstanding performance record allows us to perform advanced installations and service.

Responsibilities
- Install solar panels on roofs or other structures using racking, proper cabling and electrical connections, under the supervision of experienced installers
- Service and retrofit existing PV systems
- Perform utility locating to identify potential hazards and ensure safe installation of solar panels
- Operate heavy equipment needed for installation and transportation of materials
- Maintain a good driving record and a full G License
Skills
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights for extended periods of time
- Competence in using power tools
- Proficiency, or interest, in electrical work related to solar panel installation
- Mechanical knowledge for assembling and rigging solar panel systems
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts is a plus
