Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire

Working Arrangement: Office-Based

Salary: £33,000 to £37,000 per annum

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time Considered

About the Role

Valoris Group is recruiting for an experienced Solar PV Designer to join a growing renewable energy business based in Droitwich.

Working within the Sales Department, you will support the wider commercial team by producing accurate, compliant and high-quality solar PV system designs for domestic and commercial projects.

This is an office-based position suited to someone with strong technical design experience who can manage projects from the initial quotation stage through to technical handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design domestic and commercial solar PV systems using PV*SOL
  • Produce accurate technical drawings, plans and system layouts using AutoCAD
  • Prepare and submit DNO applications
  • Review site surveys, customer requirements and technical information
  • Develop accurate and compliant solar PV system designs
  • Provide technical support to sales consultants throughout the quotation process
  • Ensure designs comply with current UK regulations and industry standards
  • Liaise with DNOs, suppliers, customers and internal departments
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and design records
  • Support the continuous improvement of internal design processes and standards
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting agreed deadlines

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Solar PV Designer
  • Strong working knowledge of PV*SOL
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Experience preparing and submitting DNO applications
  • Good understanding of solar PV design principles
  • Knowledge of current UK solar PV regulations and standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects

Desirable Experience

  • Experience designing both domestic and commercial solar PV systems
  • Knowledge of battery storage systems
  • Understanding of EV charging integration
  • Familiarity with MCS requirements
  • Knowledge of G98 and G99 grid connection processes

You will be a positive, proactive and technically capable individual who takes pride in producing accurate work.

You should be comfortable working as part of a collaborative team while also managing your own workload and responsibilities effectively.
