Solar PV Electrician – Regional Installation Role (South England)
About the Role
Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Solar PV Electrician to work across sites in the South of England. This is a permanent position with an outstanding £40–£45k per annum, company car, fuel card, and pension scheme.

We’re supporting a highly successful renewable energy specialist expanding rapidly across the South. Our client delivers critical projects including major green-energy initiatives and local authority social housing retrofits, covering regions such as:
- Bournemouth
- Newquay

Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Full electrical installation of Solar PV systems, battery storage networks, and Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs)
- Wiring modern ventilation and control systems
- Conducting pre-installation surveys, circuit diagnostics, and final system testing
- Ensuring adherence to BS7671 and MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) standards
- Coordinating on-site with project managers and roofing teams to maintain project timelines

Requirements
Must-have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent qualification)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations compliant
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (Testing & Inspection) certification
- Practical hands-on experience in Solar PV installations
- Full and valid UK driving licence
Beneficial:
- Recognised Solar PV qualification (e.g., PV-IQ, CPVT)
- Previous exposure to Air Source Heat Pump (ASHPs) is a huge plus
Travel & Amorality:
- Must be willing to travel nationwide as required
- Willingness to stay overnight for assignments
