Job Title: Solar PV Electrician
Location: Wales
Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Valoris Group Limited are working in partnership with Smart Energy Homes to recruit an experienced Solar PV Electrician to support the continued growth of their solar installation operations across Wales. Smart Energy Homes are focused on reducing fuel poverty, lowering carbon emissions, and helping customers reduce their energy bills through high-quality renewable energy solutions. Their work includes commercial solar PV delivery, private able-to-pay projects, and government-backed schemes such as ECO4, helping households improve energy efficiency and keep their homes warmer for longer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong Solar PV experience to join a growing renewables business offering long-term stability, technical variety, and progression within the clean energy sector.
The Role
As a Solar PV Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out solar photovoltaic system installations across residential and commercial projects. You will work alongside installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role will also include supporting quality standards across completed installations, with approximately 20% of the working week involving quality audits, compliance checks, and installation reviews where required.

Key Responsibilities
- Install residential and commercial Solar PV systems, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and off-grid solutions
- Wire and connect solar panels, inverters, batteries, and associated system components
- Carry out basic domestic electrical works including socket work, lighting, and DMEV installations
- Complete ASHP electrical supply runs, including armoured cable and cylinder fuse spurs
- Undertake consumer unit work, repairs, and associated electrical tasks when required
- Carry out fault finding and provide technical support on site
- Ensure all electrical works are completed safely and in line with relevant regulations, standards, and company procedures
- Work closely with installers, electricians, apprentices, and other team members to resolve technical issues
- Support and guide junior electricians and apprentices where required
- Carry out audits on completed installations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met
- Document findings and recommend corrective actions where needed
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding installation works, adjustments, or recommendations
- Follow all health and safety procedures and work in line with relevant legislation

Requirements
- Qualified Electrician with 18th Edition
- Minimum 3 years' electrical experience
- Strong Solar PV installation experience
- Renewable energy or renewable heating knowledge
- Experience working in field-based operations
- Good understanding of domestic and commercial electrical works
- Confident fault-finding ability
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good IT skills and written communication ability
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Full UK work authorisation
- Willingness to travel and stay away when required
Package
- £40,000 to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time role
- Monday to Friday working pattern
- 37.5 hours per week
- Company workplace pension, with 3% company contribution if opted in
- 22 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
