Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Solar PV Electrician role based in the United Kingdom. The Solar PV Electrician will install, test, and commission residential solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations. Daily tasks include:

- Wiring and connecting inverters and panels
- Performing electrical inspections
- Diagnosing and repairing faults
- Completing accurate documentation of installations

The role also involves:
- Conducting site assessments
- Collaborating with installation teams and project managers
- Providing clear explanations to customers about system operation and maintenance
The Solar PV Electrician will follow health and safety procedures at all times and support continuous improvement of installation quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in electrical installation, wiring, and testing of PV systems; familiarity with inverters, panels, and associated components.
- Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671) and experience working to relevant safety codes and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals; competent use of basic electrical tools and test equipment.
- Experience working at height, using ladders and roof access equipment safely; understanding of site health and safety procedures and risk assessment.
- Good problem-solving skills for diagnosing and repairing system faults, with attention to detail in installation quality and documentation.
- Effective communication skills for working with onsite teams and explaining system operation to customers in a clear, accessible manner.
- Relevant electrical qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., Level 3 electrical qualification); previous experience in solar PV or renewable energy is an advantage.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites; ability to work independently and manage time and tasks efficiently.
