Construo Recruitment are seeking experienced Solar Roofers to lead roof-mounted PV installations across residential and commercial projects around the London area.

This role is ideal for a skilled roofer with hands-on solar experience, confident in structural mounting, weatherproofing, and full DC array wiring, with a solid understanding of UK solar standards and MCS compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Install solar PV systems on a range of roof types, including pitched (slate/tile), metal, and flat roofs Complete all roof-level DC wiring, including: Module interconnections and string wiring Cable routing and management Installation of DC isolators, connectors, optimisers, and microinverters Earthing and bonding of arrays and mounting systems Ensure all work complies with: MCS 020 & MCS 012 standards IET Code of Practice for Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems Work in line with current regulations, including: BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 (IET Wiring Regulations) BS EN (phone number removed):2016 + A1:2018 (Inspection, testing & documentation) UK Building Regulations (Part A, C & P) Install mounting systems using correct structural fixings, flashings, and waterproofing methods Carry out visual inspections and support commissioning alongside electricians Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and professionalism on site

Requirements

Minimum 2+ years’ roofing experience Proven experience installing roof-mounted solar PV systems Strong knowledge of DC wiring and PV components Understanding of MCS standards and UK solar best practice Ability to read and interpret installation drawings and schematics Comfortable working at height (ladders, scaffolding, xlqdzyr fall arrest systems) Full UK manual driving licence (held for at least 1 year)

Desirable

Experience completing MCS documentation on site

CSCS card and/or Working at Height certification

Electrical knowledge or Level 2/3 electrical qualification
