Are you an experienced Payroll professional with strong HR systems expertise?

We are seeking a Sole Payroll & Systems Manager to take ownership of payroll, pensions, benefits administration, and HR systems management within a collaborative HR team based in London.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the monthly end-to-end payroll process, ensuring payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered to strict deadlines on a sole basis.
  • Complete and review payroll checks prior to approval and submission.
  • Research and resolve payroll and pension queries.
  • Manage employee benefits schemes, including cycle-to-work, travel loans and other benefit programmes.
  • Act as the key liaison with payroll, pension and benefits providers.
  • Support annual pay reviews, salary changes, forecasting and financial modelling.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring payroll processes remain compliant.
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead the management and maintenance of HR and payroll systems.
  • Act as the HR systems subject-matter expert, supporting users and driving continuous improvement.
  • Produce management information, KPI reports, workforce statistics and audit reports.
  • Analyse HR data including headcount, absence and workforce trends, providing meaningful insights.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Support system enhancements, automation projects and process improvements.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, pension providers, auditors and external suppliers.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality HR service across the organisation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

You will bring:

βœ… CIPP/National Payroll qualification or significant payroll experience
βœ… Proven end-to-end payroll experience on a sole basis
βœ… Strong pension, reward and payroll knowledge
βœ… Excellent understanding of PAYE legislation and payroll compliance
βœ… Advanced Excel and strong MS Office skills
βœ… Experience managing HR and payroll systems
βœ… Strong reporting, analytics and data management capabilities
βœ… Experience delivering system improvements and process automation initiatives
βœ… Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
