Role: HDR Solicitor
Location: Manchester
Salary: Dependant on Experience
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated HDR Solicitor to join a growing litigation team specialising in Housing Disrepair claims. This is a full-time, office-based position in the Greater Manchester area, offering the opportunity to manage a varied caseload while working within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal advice and representation to clients, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently from instruction through to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Housing Disrepair matters from inception to conclusion
- Provide clear, practical legal advice and maintain excellent client care throughout the claims process
- Investigate claims by gathering, reviewing, and analysing evidence
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence to a high standard
- Conduct negotiations with defendants and third parties to achieve favourable settlements
- Liaise with clients, experts, counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure cases progress effectively
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and procedural requirements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and deliver excellent client outcomes
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, case law, and industry developments

- Qualified Solicitor status with a current practising certificate
- Demonstrable experience handling Housing Disrepair claims
- Strong litigation and case management skills
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation abilities
- A thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant housing legislation
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage a busy caseload independently while contributing positively within a team environment
- Experience using legal case management systems
- A professional, organised, and client-focused approach with strong attention to detail
