AmTrust is a global insurance provider offering risk-management solutions and business underwriting. Today, AmTrust International underwrites over $1.8 billion of gross written premiums and employs more than 1500 employees globally.
We are currently looking for a Solicitor to join our team based out of our Nottingham office.
Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to manage a varied caseload of insurance recovery matters arising from policies underwritten by ASL. The role offers significant exposure to complex recoveries, including structural defect and property-related claims, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the financial performance of the business.
Responsibilities
As a Solicitor, you will:
- Assess the recoverability of claims from first notification through to resolution, determining the most appropriate strategy for each matter.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 60–100 live cases, providing legal advice, pursuing recovery actions, negotiating settlements and, where necessary, managing litigation with the support of external counsel.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor holding a current practicing certificate issued by the Law Society of England and Wales with at least 2 years PQE.
- Bring proven experience of insurance litigation and recoveries, alongside strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Skills and Attributes
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will regularly collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, providing clear legal advice and influencing outcomes through effective negotiation.
