Job Description
Solicitor or Associate- Insurance (Industrial Disease Claims) Team
Location: Manchester Office
Hours: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week
The Role
Forbes Solicitors are seeking a Solicitor or Associate to join our Insurance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a defendant Insurance Solicitor that can bring their experience, skills, and knowledge to progress their career and become part of a collaborative and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of Industrial Disease matters, including:
- Noise Induced Hearing Loss
- Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome
- Claims for Asbestos Related conditions including mesothelioma
- Asthma
- Dermatitis
- Work related stress
- Attending/representing at Court / Tribunal hearings for a wide variety of hearings.
- Provision of expert legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.
- Accurate completion of legal tasks and documentation, within the Solicitor’s area of expertise.
- Represent clients in court or liaise with counsel as needed.
- Building strong client and stakeholder relationships, enhancing the Firm’s profile, and supporting business development.

About You
We are looking for people that can demonstrate the following:
Essential
- Be qualified Solicitor or CILEX with at least 1-5 years PQE.
- Experience of working within defendant Insurance, primarily working within Industrial disease claims.
- Experience conducting their own advocacy/attending courts/tribunals.
- Proven experience of handling own caseload, working to and managing deadlines, alongside the capability to generate fees in accordance with agreed targets.
- Demonstrates good client care skills, providing professional and competent legal advice in accordance with SRA Code of Conduct.
- Aligns with the Firm’s values.
Desirable
- Previous experience with Business Development activities.
