Qualified Solicitor (Construction) – Birmingham
Are you a qualified Solicitor working in Constitruction looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment?
We’re seeking a Solicitor with 0–4 years post-qualifying experience to join our Construction team based in our Birmingham office. Join a highly successful team, supporting Partners and fee earners across a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious matters.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Advise clients on a range of construction and engineering issues, including employers, contractors, sub-contractors, construction professionals, financial institutions, and other parties.
- Provide advisory and contentious expertise, covering:
- Negotiations
- Dispute avoidance
- Adjudications
- Court and arbitration proceedings
- Mediations and other ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution)
- Support clients across commercial and industrial development, infrastructure, housebuilding, healthcare, education, retail, leisure, the public sector, and various other sectors and projects.
- Advise, draught, and negotiate construction contracts, professional appointments, warranties, bonds, guarantees, and other project documentation.
- Negotiate and liaise with clients and professionals to secure agreed objectives.
- Attend meetings and negotiations with clients and third parties.
- Research new areas of law and case law to ensure procedural accuracy and advice quality.
- Develop existing and new client business through:
- Network building
- Marketing
- Client mentoring and entertainment
- Supervise and delegate work to Trainee Solicitors and Paralegals according to experience level.
- Participate in CPD (Continuing Professional Development) activities.

Requirements
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience in a construction legal role, advising on a broad range of matters.
- Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal), with a clear, logical approach.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Independence and initiative, alongside the ability to collaborate in a team.
- Fluency in IT systems and file management skills.
- A proactive mindset and high attention to detail.
