Solicitor - Corporate Commercial
Worcester based
£56,110 – £59,059 per year
35 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Solicitor to join Corporate Commercial and Regulatory Team based in Worcester. This role sits within a new and growing team of 5. For this position you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services to Sanctuary Housing Association and its subsidiaries and operations, in line with regulatory and legal requirements and Group objectives.
This job sits within the Legal and Governance directorate, which provides legal assistance and support to the Group to ensure compliance, regulatory requirements are met and high quality governance frameworks are in place.
The role of Solicitor - Corporate Commercial will include:
- Support the development and delivery of high-quality legal services in relation to all areas of commercial, corporate and regulatory law relevant to the sectors that Sanctuary Housing Association and its subsidiaries operate within, in line with regulatory and legal requirements and Group objectives
- Provide support to the senior management team in overseeing the in-house legal teams responsible for the Group's legal work, ensuring accurate reporting is completed and that statutory deadlines and internal targets are met
- Manage own caseload of legal work in line with legal and regulatory requirements and in support of business objectives. Manage, allocate and oversee the provision of legal advice to the rest of the Group for a variety of matters
- Liaise with the Group’s external legal providers and support the senior legal team in managing legal spend and invoice analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and Group financial procedures to protect the interests and reputation of the Group
- Lead the development and maintenance of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including where applicable, ensuring the delivery of a quality service that represents value for money, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately

Skills and experiences:
- Qualified Solicitor or barrister or equivalent. Must have additional practising rights if CILEX (LSA 2007 exemption)
- Proven experience of delivering legal services
- Proven experience of managing projects with strong project management skills
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Proven experience of managing a varied caseload
- Comprehensive experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Proven experience of advising on legal issues within an in-house legal environment or similar
- Experience working within complex regulatory frameworks
- Experience in drafting contracts and contractual interpretation

£56,110 per annum (rising to £59,059 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
