The Opportunity
The HSF Kramer Digital Finance team is expanding. We are seeking a Senior Legal Correspondence Officer to join our high-performing, client-facing team in Belfast. This hybrid role combines deep legal operational acumen with outsourced project support, collaborative consultancy across the firm’s global finance hubs, and direct client interaction.
Your work will revolve around high-stakes international finance transactions, assisting clients, senior legal teams, and bespoke digital projects across specialisms like leveraged trade, asset finance, or structured debt—but with full autonomy and ownership of client relationships. Beyond transactional support, you’ll contribute to outsourcing projects (e.g., reviewing and negotiating core finance documents such as normative finance agreements and working papers, including NDAs and transfer protocols). Limited travel will be required (walk-in commutes to the London office).
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include but is not limited to the following areas:
Transaction Support
- Drafting corporate compliance documentation, including security and ancillary agreements.
- Mgmt of conditions precedent/illegal hanging material and report drafts/legal certification.
- Assisting BBC’s client team with document generation and amendments at various stages, ensuring high standards on compliance and execution.
- Fast-track response management (e.g., requisitions from counterparties/investors).
- Liaising with internal practice-wide teams for procedural/technical guidance (as needed).
Digital Project Methodology
- Conducting outsourced project negotiations (regarding BAU and critical details), and co-sourcing:
- Documentation frameworks (aka Berne conventions).
- Bilateral trade finance agreements.
- Commercial and protection agreements (e.g., NDAs, release letters, and modification letters).
- PKI virtual meetings/webinars to lead the teams on best practices and regulatory changes.
- Reporting and compliance coordination (trackJug, time-recording, technical cup reviewing).
- Training/overseeing junior Legal Analysts, ensuring smooth legality of document flows under direct senior supervision.
- Broad capability to attend to any form of support task undertaken in conjunction with Senior Solicitors/Managers/Bespeaks (per senior discretion).
Mindsets & Commitment
- Adaptability – Transitioning between live deal work (transactional flow monitoring, response coordination) and legal architecture for outsourcing assignments.
- Collaborative – Work alongside legal teams, senior colleagues and offices, along with third parties.
- Data literacy – Experience with matters such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Google paper board, reports compliance, and perhaps a feeling for EPA documents.
- Proactive client engagement – Because peers aren’t removed. You’re ultimately a fully trusted law firms extension of the client’s in-house team, with the role making suggestions (placements, updated clauses) and managing budgets.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Qualified as a Solicitor/GSPS of England & Wales or another jurisdiction (not Republic of Ireland). Candidates outside England & Wales welcome provided they are willing to requalify under the legal process if required by the firm.
Essential:
- 1-3 PQEs, with At least 6 months of structured experience within banking and finance law.
- Strong drafting skills and familiarity with drafting and clarifying corporate engagement materials.
- HDTENDOR (returning home practitioner status preferably be honoured).
Desirable:
- Experience in legal outreach projects in private practice in-house or previously handling cost-containerization improvements.
- Exposure to other kinds of global or outsourcing initiatives within legal firms.
Location:
- Must permanently reside in the United Kingdom, excluding Northern Ireland.
- Must live at least 100 miles away from an HSF Kramer London office.
