Ridley & Hall Solicitors is seeking an experienced Family Solicitor with 5+ years PQE to join our growing Family Law team based in South Elmsall.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled family lawyer who is passionate about delivering outstanding client care and is looking to take the next step in their career. For the right candidate, there is a potential leadership opportunity to help shape and lead our South Elmsall Family team.
Working alongside a highly respected and supportive department, you will manage a varied caseload whilst contributing to the continued growth and success of the team.
About The Role
You will handle a broad range of privately funded and legally aided family law matters, providing expert advice and representation to clients during some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
The role offers a mix of fee-earning, advocacy, supervision and business development responsibilities, making it ideal for an ambitious solicitor seeking a varied and rewarding position.
In This Role You Will
- Manage your own family law caseload from instruction to conclusion.
- Handle matters including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children disputes
- Domestic abuse matters
- Non-molestation orders
- Attend court hearings, including:
- Directions hearings
- First appointments
- Financial Dispute Resolution hearings
- Take client instructions and provide practical, empathetic legal advice.
- Draft legal documents, correspondence and court applications.
- Prepare Legal Aid applications and liaise with the Legal Aid Agency.
- Assist with file reviews and supervision of junior team members.
- Support the Head of Family with team development and quality management.
- Contribute to networking, marketing and business development activities.
- Work collaboratively across our offices when required.

We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Is a qualified Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE in Family Law.
- Has experience managing their own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Has strong experience in:
- Divorce and financial remedy matters
- Private children proceedings
- Domestic abuse cases
- Advocacy and court representation
- Has knowledge of Legal Aid eligibility and procedures.
- Demonstrates exceptional client care and communication skills.
- Is commercially aware and keen to help grow the department.
- Can develop professional contacts and generate new work.
- Is self-motivated, organised and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
- Has experience supervising colleagues or is keen to develop supervisory responsibilities.
- Meets, or is capable of meeting, Legal Aid Supervisor requirements.
- Has experience of TOLATA matters (desirable but not essential).
- Possesses strong leadership skills and an interest in future team leadership opportunities.
