We are now seeking an enthusiastic healthcare litigation lawyer at NQ-4 PQE level with strong clinical negligence experience to join our Healthcare Litigation team. We’ll support you as you work alongside senior colleagues across the extensive range of services we provide.


What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining a dynamic team working on a range of complex healthcare litigation cases for the NHS and other public and private healthcare providers. This could include opportunities for client secondments.

  • Pre-action investigation and drafting
  • Drafting reports and advice to clients (both in and out of litigation)
  • Preparation and attendance at trials and mediations
  • Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements
  • Cost management
  • Multi-party litigation work
  • ADR/Mediation and attendance at settlement meetings
  • Negotiation of settlements
  • Preparation and attendance at court hearings, including CCMCs and application hearings
  • Client training and support, such as:
    • Prescribing presentations
    • Delivering seminars
    • Conducting webinars
  • Business development activities (as appropriate to your level)

What We Need from You

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in healthcare litigation (ideally from another panel firm or as part of a medical defence insurer/indemnifier) or if newly qualified, a seat completed in clinical negligence
  • Awareness of issues relevant to our clients’ sector, particularly within healthcare
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, delivering consistently under pressure
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills—you’ll need to convey complex legal arguments clearly to legal and non-legal audiences
  • Irreproachable confidentiality practices and the ability to uphold client requirements
  • Resilience to thrive under tight deadlines
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage a varied workload efficiently
  • Teamwork mentality—collaboration is key
