Solicitor – Insurance & Reinsurance – Bristol – 4+ Years PQE

A leading national law firm is seeking an Insurance Associate (4+ PQE) to join its highly regarded Insurance & Reinsurance team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, expanding group handling complex, high‑value matters for major insurers, reinsurers and brokers across the UK and internationally.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing a varied and sophisticated caseload of insurance disputes, including:

  • Defendant professional indemnity matters (solicitors, brokers, FI professionals)
  • FI/D&O claims
  • Complex policy coverage disputes for insurers and reinsurers
  • Cyber breach response and coverage work
  • Exposure to emerging areas such as W&I, FinTech and Tech E&O
  • Working closely with key insurer clients and developing your own market relationships
  • Contributing to a collaborative, commercial and forward‑thinking team culture

Candidate Requirements

This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 4+ years PQE in insurance litigation, coverage or professional indemnity
  • Experience gained at a City, major regional or international firm
  • Strong drafting skills and the ability to deliver clear, commercial advice
  • Confidence handling insurer clients and complex matters independently
  • Excellent communication, judgement and project management skills
  • A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach
