Solicitor 5 - 8 years PQE

Family, Winchester

Paris Smith LLP is one of the South’s largest regional law firms. We have deep roots in our region and have celebrated over 200 years in business. We are committed to ensuring that our clients have a positive experience with the firm, and to inspiring and developing our people, so they reach their full potential. We are based in offices in Southampton, Winchester and Bournemouth, with a view to further expansion on an independent and organic basis.

The Family team at Paris Smith, which has unparalleled quality of work and reputation across the South and beyond, are now looking to recruit a 5 to 8 year PQE Solicitor in each of our three locations to join in and continue that success. The firm offers excellent opportunities for long term career advancement, autonomy and independence.

The Role

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to work independently and as part of a larger team. Some cases will be Partner led. Others will be led by you, and you will be supported by more junior members of the team. In all our locations, we are led by Partners with established reputations for dealing with all aspects of family law; including high net worth matrimonial finance and complex private law children matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
