Role Overview
Join our dynamic and supportive Clinical Negligence Team as a Grade C Solicitor (NQ–Grade C) or equivalent. Our firm prides itself on delivering exceptional outcomes, backed by a team of APIL, AvMA, and Law Society accredited specialists.
This role is ideal for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor seeking to advance their career in a progressive environment where mentorship, professional growth, and impact are valued.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable For
- Running an individual caseload of clinical negligence cases
- Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding client service
- Contributing to proactive and commercial case management, driving cases to LOC (Letter of Claim), settlement, or trial
- Ensuring the team’s financial and performance KPIs are met, under the guidance of the Team Leader/Head of Department
- Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
- Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with senior colleagues
- Identifying and progressing cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service
- Collating and coordinating case information across internal and external parties
- Proactive and commercial caseload management
- Drafting legal documentation (e.g., LOC, Letters of Instruction)
- Negotiating settlements and issuing proceedings where necessary
- Litigating claims as required in a collaborative environment
- Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
- Advising on technical issues, supported by the Team Leader/Head of Department

About the Role
You will work under supervision to:
- Assist in settling cases
- Mentor junior team members and help develop their skills
- Contribute to pre- and post-litigation casework in a supportive and collaborative environment
Requirements
Essential Criteria
- NQ to 5 years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE), or equivalent working in Clinical Negligence
- Recent experience handling a caseload
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication and drafting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Prodoc, and Excel
- Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Commercial awareness in a legal environment
- Ability to mentor and coach junior colleagues
- Client care skills
