Solicitor (NQ-2 Years PQE) – Police Malfeasance Civil Claims Team

As a Solicitor, you’ll be joining the Police Malfeasance Civil Claims sub-team, handling claims on behalf of police forces across the UK. This role:

- Manage a caseload of civil claims across the UK for police forces
- Assist senior solicitors on:
- Complex, sensitive, and high-profile matters
- Claims extending to public liability (PL), personal injury, false imprisonment, assault, and negligence
- Support on data protection, Equality Act, Human Rights Act, and judicial review cases
- Contribute to Article 2 inquests and public inquiries preparation
- Collaborate with Police, Care and Justice team to deliver high-quality legal services for both public and private sector clients
- Maintain high standards of client service across a diverse portfolio
- Ensure efficient and exceptional case progression, particularly in sensitive or high-profile matters
- Actively participate in training and development opportunities to refine expertise in specialist litigation
- Play a role in team growth and continued success
What Will Help You Succeed?
Essential Criteria
- Demonstratable experience in civil litigation, with strong familiarity of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with proper supervision, while supporting senior colleagues on complex work
- Sharp organisation and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines
- Precision with attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication
- Proactive, collaborative approach with strong teamwork skills
- Confidence to exercise independent initiative, taking ownership of tasks
- Genuine enthusiasm for litigation, with a commitment to ongoing technical education and support
