About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor (approximately 1–4 years' PQE) with a genuine interest in acting for those who have sustained a serious injury to join our partner-led Serious Injury team in Newcastle. You will work as part of a highly experienced team of lawyers and specialists, supporting clients who have sustained life-changing injuries and benefiting from close collaboration with senior lawyers, medical experts, rehabilitation professionals, case managers and counsel.
The team represents clients with severe brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and polytrauma as well as supporting bereaved families in fatal collision cases. The team regularly achieves multi-million pound settlements and has been top-ranked in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK for many years.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of serious injury matters
- Assist senior lawyers on complex, high-value claims (including for clients who have sustained brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and polytrauma)
- Deliver clear, practical, and compassionate legal advice to clients
- Work collaboratively within a market-leading team
- Contribute to business development and team growth initiatives
- Take a proactive, organised approach to case management
Requirements
- Approximately 1–4 years PQE with experience in serious injury work
- Strong commercial awareness and a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills with empathy and compassion
- A genuine passion for working with those who have sustained serious injuries
- The drive to develop professionally and contribute to team success
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset
- Strong appetite for business development activity / existing business development contacts.
