Solicitor/Senior Solicitor/Barrister – Children’s Social Care (x3)
Permanent, Full-Time (37 Hours per Week) Grade 8 – £52,413 to £56,730 per annum plus 10% market forces payment until 31 May 2028 Location: Civic Centre and other suitable locations within the City of Wolverhampton
About the Role
The multi award-winning City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an enthusiastic Solicitor/Barrister to join our dynamic and hardworking Social Care and Education Legal team.

- Provide legal advice and representation to the children’s services and education department.
- Manage a varied caseload, covering:
- Public law children matters (care and placement orders).
- Fostering and adoption proceedings.
- Non-school education prosecutions.
- General children’s social care matters.
- General education law matters.
- Advise senior officers within the local authority.
- Engage actively in client care and business development.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a solicitor/barrister (or hold equivalent qualifications). Demonstrated experience in child care law is essential.
While local government experience is advantageous, applicants from private practice are welcome.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
