Solicitor/Associate - Clinical Risk

About the Role
Our Clinical Risk cluster is the largest nationally, managing a demanding yet rewarding caseload focused on defendant clinical negligence work. We represent a diverse client base, comprising NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, the Medical Defence Union (MDU), independent healthcare providers, and medical malpractice insurers.

Responsibilities
- Handle a high-impact caseload of defendant clinical negligence work for NHS Resolution, including:
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and letters of response
- Conducting face-to-face negotiations and mediations
- Preparing counter schedules

Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing commercially astute legal advice

Strict adherence to client protocols and internal processes

Mentorship and training for junior fee earners

Contribute to non-fee-earning activities, such as:
- Knowledge sharing and client training
- Business development initiatives
- Organising seminars and publications

Compliance with firm and client requirements, including:
- Internal financial procedures
- File management, billing systems, and KPIs
- Data security protocols (handling confidential information)

Proactive engagement with:
- Article writing for internal/external publications
- Solutions for complex, evolving challenges
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Qualified solicitor with expertise in:
- Defendant clinical negligence (preferably at an NHS Resolution panel firm)
- Open to candidates with experience in defendant personal injury or claimant-based clinical negligence
