The Role
As a Solution Architect at Envitia, you will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative, data-centric solutions for Defence and Central Government customers. Working within our Consulting team, you will be responsible for shaping end-to-end solutions that combine Envitia’s products and services with leading commercial technologies and frameworks to solve complex customer challenges.
You'll also work closely with our Business Development and Sales teams, providing technical leadership throughout the pre-sales lifecycle. This includes developing solution approaches, producing technical proposals, and supporting the creation of cost and effort estimates for customer opportunities.
We're looking for someone with strong experience delivering technology solutions within the Defence and/or Central Government sectors. You'll be passionate about solving complex problems, engaging with customers and helping organisations unlock greater value from their data.
Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect at Envitia, you will be responsible for designing and delivering innovative, scalable solutions that help our clients solve complex business and technical challenges. Working closely with customers, delivery teams and stakeholders, you will:
- Engage with customers to understand business needs, analyse requirements, and translate them into practical and effective technical solutions.
- Develop technical strategies, architectural roadmaps and advisory artefacts that support organisational transformation and technology adoption.
- Lead the design and delivery of modern solution architectures, leveraging a range of commercial technologies, frameworks and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers and developers to ensure solutions are successfully implemented and aligned with customer objectives.
- Provide technical leadership throughout solution reviews, ensuring designs meet client expectations, industry best practice and relevant regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the development of Envitia’s managed service offerings and reusable solution capabilities across our customer base.
- Research emerging technologies, market trends and industry developments, identifying opportunities to enhance our services and create new offerings.
- Produce solution cost models, business cases and risk assessments to support customer decision-making and investment planning.
- Develop robust estimates covering the full solution lifecycle, including design, delivery, transition, operation, maintenance and exit considerations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
