Solution Architect

The Solution Architect will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into architecture solutions and technology roadmaps. This role supports the development of enterprise, domain, and solution architectures while ensuring alignment with business goals, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and technology standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in architecture modeling, cloud computing, data architecture, system integration, information security, business intelligence, and disaster recovery planning. The individual will work closely with Domain Architects and project teams to define solution architectures, promote best practices, and contribute to architecture governance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business strategy and capture business objectives to support technology planning and decision-making.
  • Translate business requirements into Information Systems (IS) strategies, architectural roadmaps, and technology solutions.
  • Define and support target-state Information Systems landscapes and architecture roadmaps.
  • Identify, assess, and document regulatory, compliance, and governance constraints impacting solution design.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate to drive innovation and business value.
  • Define, maintain, and promote technology standards, architecture principles, frameworks, and reusable design patterns.
  • Collaborate with Domain Architects, Enterprise Architects, and project teams to develop domain and solution architectures.
  • Develop and maintain architecture models, blueprints, and documentation aligned with organizational strategy and technology direction.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning and ensure initiatives address business, security, reliability, scalability, recoverability, and performance objectives.
  • Support architecture governance processes, design reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise security architecture and information security standards.
  • Guide system and technology integration activities across applications, data, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to contingency, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning and architecture.
  • Support the design and implementation of hybrid cloud and enterprise hosting solutions.
  • Promote architecture best practices, standards, and continuous improvement across project and delivery teams.
  • Produce high-quality architecture artifacts, technical documentation, standards, guidelines, and reference architectures.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12 – 20 years of overall IT experience with significant experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related architecture roles.
  • Experience working across complex enterprise environments and large-scale technology transformation initiatives.

Technical Skills

Architecture & Strategy

  • Strong understanding of IT industry trends, technology evolution, and enterprise architecture practices.
  • Expertise in architecture modeling and development of conceptual, logical, and physical architecture models.
  • Experience defining target-state architectures and technology roadmaps.

Cloud Computing

  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture principles and technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in enterprise application deployment and hosting in hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure (Cloud and AI services)

Data & Analytics

  • Strong understanding of Data Architecture, including data modeling, data governance, integration, storage, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience designing and supporting Business Intelligence and analytics platforms and infrastructures.

Security & Resilience

  • Knowledge of Information Security Architecture and secure solution design principles.
  • Understanding of contingency planning, business continuity, and disaster recovery architectures.

Integration & Infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of system and technology integration methodologies and patterns.
  • Knowledge of Network Architecture and enterprise infrastructure design principles.

Documentation & Governance

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience creating architecture artifacts, standards, design guidelines, technical specifications, and governance documentation.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Experience participating in architecture review boards and governance processes.
  • Ability to evaluate complex technology challenges and recommend practical, scalable solutions.
