Solution Architect – Claims Modernisation Project

Working Arrangements: 35 Hours / Monday – Friday
Location: London / WFH hybrid (3 days in office per week)

Company Background:

The Thomas Miller Group is an independent and international provider of insurance, professional and investment services.

Business Context and Background:

The UK P&I Club and TT Club are the largest entities in Thomas Miller. They share a common Claims Administration platform which caters for both shared and business-specific processes. A programme is underway to modernise the claims domain for the Clubs looking at processes, technology and data, and we seek a Solution Architect to help shape the solution.

The existing line of business applications to be replaced is mostly 2-tier.NET / Visual Basic / Visual C based, running against DB2 with some RPG in overnight processes.

The target technical solution will be based around a mix of Microsoft Dynamics / Power Platform / Azure Integration Services / Databricks and associated platforms to provide integrated Document and AI support through a mix of PaaS / SaaS and in house built / cloud hosted components.

Overall Objective of Role:

Working as part of the Claims Modernisation Programme, the Solution Architect will support the Lead Solution Architect in defining and designing the future claims technology landscape and helping to translate business requirements into end-to-end solution designs across the target Microsoft-centric platform.

  • Work closely with Business Analysts and Architects (Data, Infrastructure) as well as Security stakeholders and Technical Specialists, working at the heart of the design team to support future-state business process design and target operating model alignment for claims for both Clubs.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the high-level solution designs that describe how business processes, applications, integrations, infrastructure and security capabilities come together to deliver the future claims solution.
  • Apply existing architectural patterns where appropriate, identify and resolve gaps where needed and maintain a clear view of the overall solution landscape and its alignment to business objectives.
  • Review and provide architectural guidance on development, deployment and release management approaches to ensure alignment with programme requirements and enterprise standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
