Solution Architect (AWS)
We're looking for a hands-on Solution Architect (AWS) to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode.
This role focuses on leading a diverse portfolio of initiatives, including on-prem to AWS migration, operational risk remediation, regulatory compliance, and platform modernization. As a pragmatic and hands-on architect, you will work within complex legacy ecosystems while implementing scalable, resilient, and efficient solutions. By collaborating with Product, Operations, and Engineering teams, you will ensure that transformation aligns with business priorities while maintaining stability of critical platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient solutions across legacy and modern platforms
- Drive migration from on-prem environments to AWS cloud services
- Lead architecture for initiatives focused on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and resiliency
- Define target architectures and transition roadmaps, making sound trade-offs where necessary
- Act as a hands-on technical leader by reviewing designs, supporting implementation, and building PoCs
- Architect data-intensive solutions, including ETL processes and processing pipelines
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and governance
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Represent the domain in architecture forums and contribute to strategic decisions
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices in engineering and architecture

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Technical Lead in complex enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, Glue, EKS, S3, SQS, SNS)
- Background in designing distributed architectures and microservices solutions
- Proficient in backend technologies such as Python, Java, or C# (.NET)
- Strong knowledge of data platforms, SQL, ETL pipelines, and data lake architecture
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as Angular
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Ability to navigate legacy systems while promoting modernization
- Strong understanding of risk management, security, and compliance requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Nice to have
- Experience in financial markets or market data platforms
- Knowledge of BPM tools (e.g., Airflow, Step Functions)
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Grafana)
- Exposure to AI/ML or GenAI-driven automation capabilities
