Solution Architect – Azure AI
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
Contract: Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Azure AI to lead the end-to-end architecture and design of enterprise AI solutions. The successful candidate will own the solution architecture across all phases of delivery, leveraging the Azure AI stack to build secure, scalable, and production-ready AI platforms. You will define API contracts, collaborate with engineering teams, and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture across the complete AI delivery lifecycle
- Design enterprise AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, and Azure Content Understanding
- Define and govern API contracts using Azure API Management (APIM)
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Produce high-level and low-level solution designs, architecture documentation, and technical roadmaps
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements
- Drive architecture reviews, technical governance, and design assurance
- Provide technical leadership throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend best practices for enterprise adoption

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Solution or Enterprise Architecture
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Azure AI stack, including:
- Azure AI Foundry
- Azure AI Search
- Azure Document Intelligence
- Azure Content Understanding
- Strong experience designing enterprise-scale AI and cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Expertise in Azure API Management (APIM) and API architecture
- Experience with microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native application design
- Strong understanding of AI solution architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise security
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills

Nice to Have
- Experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, and Prompt Engineering
- Knowledge of Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft Copilot technologies
- Experience within Banking or Financial Services
- TOGAF, Microsoft Azure Architect (AZ-305), or Azure AI Engineer certifications
