The Role
As our Solution Architect, you’ll be the strategic mind behind end-to-end solution design and architectural governance for healthcare and digital transformation initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture across multi-programme healthcare and digital transformation projects.
- Define, refine, and govern end-to-end solution designs, ensuring alignment with business, technology, security, and operational requirements.
- Produce high-impact architectural deliverables, including key technical decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.
- Act as a trusted advisor bridging business stakeholders, delivery teams, enterprise architecture, and technology partners.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solutions conform to approved architectural principles and technical standards.
- Develop strategic technology roadmaps supporting immediate business needs and long-term goals.
- Lead architecture governance, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
- Provide informed guidance on technology selection, solution options, and investments to maximise business value.
- Review and validate architecture proposals, high-level designs, and detailed designs from internal/external teams and suppliers.
- Support project estimation by accurately representing architectural scope and technical complexity.
- Contribute to reusable enterprise architecture patterns, standards, frameworks, and best practices.

Key Requirements ✅
We’re looking for an architect who thrives at the intersection of technical expertise, business acumen, and stakeholder influence.
Essential Criteria
✔ Advanced Solution Architecture experience in complex enterprise environments. ✔ Strong proficiency designing with Microsoft .NET / Java EE (or both). ✔ Expertise in cloud-native architectures, specifically Microsoft Azure. ✔ Hands-on experience with solution architecture deliverables across Agile and Waterfall methodologies. ✔ Proven track record in multi-vendor, outsourced, and distributed delivery environments. ✔ Depth of knowledge in:
- Enterprise architecture principles
- Application design & integration patterns
- Modern software delivery practices ✔ Cloud-hosted solutions, digital platforms, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration. ✔ Strong grasp of information security, data governance, GDPR, and sensitive data protection. ✔ Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, compelling communication across technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Skills
🏆 Enterprise integration technologies: MuleSoft, Talend, Software AG, IBM MQ, Azure Integration Services. 🏆 Azure cloud expertise – experience recommending and implementing cloud capabilities. 🏆 Knowledge of ArchiMate 3 and enterprise modelling techniques. 🏆 Preferred: experience in healthcare, regulated, or highly governed industries (e.g., pharmacy, retail healthcare). 🏆TOGAF, ISEB, or equivalent architecture certifications.
