Job Description: Solution Architect Grade - C16
Contract – Permanent
Location: Bupa Place (M50 3SP) or Angel Court (EC2R 7HJ)
Hybrid working: 1 day per week in the office
Working hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: From 58,500.00

The Architect is a member of an architecture team providing enterprise, solution and data architecture services for “Corporate Functions” within Bupa (People, Finance, Legal, Risk, Audit). The Domain Architect oversees the architecture of SaaS based application services. The architect is accountable for defining and validating the business and data context, technical approaches to authentication, integration and data management, as well as validating the vendor’s approach to cloud infrastructure to ensure the service meets non-functional requirement
How you’ll help us make health happen
- Translation of business needs into high level solution designs with both business and data dimensions
- Maintaining documentation for existing SaaS services
- Application Portfolio Management including the development of E2E viewpoints
- Application Roadmap and Target State definition (identifying opportunities)
- Contributing to and maintaining the Functions Data Model
- Technology Pattern definition
- Technology Governance execution including close engagement with Security, Risk and Privacy
- The identification of common technical capabilities / unmet needs
- Working closely with the Security team to resolve control and vulnerability issues in the architecture
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Since graduating, the candidate will have held a position in a closely related architecture field developing business, data or solution architecture (2-5 years).
- They’re seeking a position that allows them to grow into a fully rounded architect, which involves end-to-end thinking from multiple perspectives (business, data & tech).
- Strong experience designing solutions across infrastructure and platform technologies within large, complex enterprise environments, including cloud, networking, identity, workplace, and shared platforms.
- Able to design end-to-end solutions that integrate seamlessly across domains.
- Comfortable operating within a product-led delivery model, working closely with Product Owners, engineering squads, and other architects to shape product strategies, refine backlogs, and support iterative delivery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess current-state environments, identify risks and constraints, and develop clear, pragmatic solution options.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, capable of producing high-quality architecture artefacts that clearly convey complex concepts to a wide range of audiences.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, able to work confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and guide decision-making across teams and leadership levels.
- Solid understanding of architecture governance, standards, and assurance processes, including experience navigating design reviews, managing architectural risk, and ensuring compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
