Solution Architect - Retail & Supply Chain

Solution Architect - Retail & Supply Chain

About the Role

Are you ready to make a difference? Join Boots as a Solution Architect - Retail & Supply Chain in Nottingham, Beeston and play a pivotal role in shaping technology solutions that support our transformation journey.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping technology solutions that support Boots’ Retail and Supply Chain transformation. A broad portfolio of change is underway across the business, with technology central to improving how we serve customers, colleagues, stores, and supply chain operations.

As a Solution Architect within the Retail & Supply Architecture team, you will work closely with business, technology, and delivery stakeholders to shape practical, high-quality solution designs for assigned projects.

The role is focused on practical solution architecture, translating requirements into deliverable designs that align with enterprise standards and support successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Shape end-to-end solution designs for Retail and Supply Chain initiatives and create clear architecture outputs that support governance and decision-making.
  • Ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Work closely with delivery teams and partners through build, test, implementation, and transition into service.
  • Support architectural integrity while balancing delivery pace, risk, cost, and complexity.
  • Engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable solutions and engage with Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Testing, Security, Infrastructure, Data, and Service Introduction teams to support successful delivery.
  • Apply enterprise architecture standards, domain guardrails, patterns, and roadmaps to project-level solution designs.
  • Provide practical architectural input where requirements, constraints, or dependencies are evolving.
  • Support early-stage shaping and estimating activity by providing high-level solution input.
  • Apply architectural standards, reusable patterns, and practical solution building blocks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
