Act as the primary technical authority, providing architectural leadership and governance across delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and govern solution architecture across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, following modern architecture principles such as API-first, event-driven design, security by design, and reusable services.
- Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including solution designs, OpenAPI specifications, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical design documents, and architecture review outputs.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, cloud landing zones, approved integration patterns, and organisational technology strategies.
- Support application lifecycle management through technology assessments to modernise platforms, reduce technical debt, and improve maintainability.
- Champion DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep), observability, monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, identity management, and security controls.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to engineering teams, reviewing solution designs and mentoring senior developers.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, delivery managers, engineering teams, and security stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
