The Role
The successful Solution Architect will be part of the Software Group within Telent working closely with the Engineering Manager and acting as an intermediary between the wider business/clients and the software development team. You will be responsible for creating winning technical solutions to the needs of potential new customers and ideally be from a Software Engineering background.
This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home when not required onsite. You will attend our Warwick office and client sites as needed, with travel requirements varying depending on project and customer needs.
What you’ll do:
- Head technical strategy discussions with senior customer personnel.
- Lead and produce technical options papers as part of agreeing strategy
- Head consultancy advice to customers
- Work with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to identify business challenges and opportunities where technology can provide value.
- Assess existing software products and capabilities, determining where solutions can be reused, adapted or enhanced.
- Act as the bridge between software engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-focused outcomes
- Collaborate with software teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable and aligned with customer needs.
- Support opportunities across the wider Group by identifying where existing capabilities can deliver value.

Who you are:
The successful Solutions Architect will technically capable software professional who enjoys working with customers, solving complex problems and turning business challenges into effective technology solutions. You'll have a strong software engineering background combined with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Requirements:
- Develop technical specifications, network architecture documentation and other relevant documentation
- Experience across the full software delivery lifecycle
- Experience working with software architecture and solution design
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience of Cloud, on-premise and hybrid architectures, APIs, middleware and microservices integration.
- Ability to gain Security Clearance (SC Clearance)
- Full UK Driving Licence
