Solution Architect

Role Description

  • To act in a consultative role, to inspire, lead and collaboratively work with customers, colleagues and partners in configuring the Clinisys software package to enhance the workflow of the clinical laboratory with Practice knowledge.
  • To keep abreast of ongoing and future laboratory regulations, working practices, products and technologies within the pathology discipline.
  • To provide technical assistance to the implementation of complex distributed environments with private, hybrid and cloud platforms.
  • To be the key technical subject matter expert in the design and deployment of the Clinisys LIMS Solution into Healthcare organisations within the UK and Republic of Ireland to satisfy the customer and business requirements.
  • To act in a consultative role, to inspire, lead and collaboratively work with customers, colleagues and partners in configuring the Clinisys software package to enhance the workflow of the clinical laboratory with Practice knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities within customer solutions and internal delivery processes where AI technologies can add measurable value, such as automation, decision support, data validation, anomaly detection, or operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Professional Services - World class delivery is at heart of what we do, ensure our delivery teams are well equipped with tools for automation and standardised roll outs and configuration.
  • To utilise and continue to develop the standardised methodology for replicable deployment of the Clinisys product suite.
  • Collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to encompass a unified and scalable solution.
  • To understand and analyse client workflows and document a cohesive solution to achieve their projected target operating model utilising the best features and working practices of our software.
  • To be conversant with functionality of Clinisys product suite.
  • Comprehend the Customers’ requirements as specified in the PID (Project Initiation Document) and the design document presented at the Sales stage.
  • Continual customer engagement to promote:
    • Solution design.
    • Solution build and unit testing.
    • Solution end to end validation.
    • Solution transition into Service.
  • Demonstrating and promoting Clinisys core values of Simplicity, Promises, Customers and Teamwork.
  • Assessment and maintenance of Quality Assurance throughout the deployment lifecycle.
  • To identify opportunities within the SA scope where AI technology can add value.

AI Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess opportunities where AI and machine learning can improve operational efficiency, decision-making, or user experience.
  • Act as a technical authority to define how AI components integrate into existing application, infrastructure, and data architectures.
  • Assess risks associated with AI usage, including data quality, bias, model transparency, and operational impact, and ensure appropriate mitigations are designed in.
  • Promote AI literacy within the Solution Architect team and wider delivery teams by contributing to guidance, training materials, and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI capabilities and tools, advising on practical, value-driven adoption rather than technology for its own sake.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong motivational skills – can deliver the tasks in difficult circumstances.
  • Excellent communications skills, able to articulate and document complex information suitable for a wide range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • High levels of commitment and ability to take action when necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently.
  • Excellent customer attentiveness and client facing experience.
  • Ability to provide strategic influence across groups, projects and products to implement cost-effective technology solutions to solve complex business problems.
  • Ability to create and deliver executive-level summary reports and presentations.
  • Experience of Clinisys product suite.
  • Experience in deployment of complex applications, data environments and automated solutions.
  • Hands-on experience for Basic oracle script writing, Business Objects, Healthcare integration solutions and messaging (HL7, FHIR), Analyser Data Managers.
  • Experience with Azure, cloud and hybrid platforms.
  • The ability to diagnose, isolate and resolve complex solution issues.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of healthcare pathology laboratory workflows, regulatory requirements, equipment and emerging trends.
  • The ability to make balanced technical decisions based on commercial/timescale impact to the project.
  • Ability and willingness to work independently.
  • Ownership and development of personal skills, training and career development – a strong sense of continuous personal improvement.
  • Flexibility - willingness to travel and work away from home (Woking office and customer sites) if required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in the UK or Ireland Health sectors.
  • Experience in Healthcare LIMS management.
  • Moderate experience within an IT or software providers organisation.
  • Moderate experience in a project management environment is desirable.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted.

This role requires a working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and the ability to leverage them to improve processes and outcomes. A core understanding of AI concepts is required and must be able to demonstrate the use of AI tools in a professional setting.

Onboarding

As part of our onboarding process, all new employees will be required to attend / travel to the office on their first day of employment. This requirement is essential for onboarding activities, including the identity verification, completion of necessary documentation, receiving your IT equipment, introductions to key team members, and orientation to Clinisys policies and procedures.
