About the role:
As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you will act as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle, partnering closely with Account Managers to support new business and growth opportunities. You will take a consultative approach, helping customers understand how AvePoint solutions can address their technical and business needs. This role combines strong technical expertise with customer-facing engagement and commercial awareness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in pre-sales within a fast-paced and innovative technology environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Support customers through evaluation, proof-of-concept and decision-making stages
- Build and configure demo and proof-of-concept environments
- Contribute to RFI/RFP responses, articulating business value and technical capability
- Partner with Sales to understand customer objectives and position solutions effectively
- Build strong relationships with key business and technical stakeholders
- Support partner and marketing activities including events, webinars and workshops
- Provide feedback to product and technical teams on market trends and customer requirements
- Take ownership of the technical aspects of deals through to close
- Act as a technical evangelist for the business, representing the company at industry events, webinars, customer workshops, partner sessions, and community forums.
- Develop and promote a professional presence within the Microsoft ecosystem and wider technology community through thought leadership, content creation, speaking engagements, and networking activities.
- Support brand awareness and pipeline generation by sharing market insights, customer success stories, and technical expertise across internal and external channels.
- Deliver compelling presentations to both technical and executive audiences, translating complex concepts into clear business value.
- Contribute to the growth of the company's market presence by building credibility, influence, and trusted relationships within target customer and partner communities.

What you will bring:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with confidence engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Fluent in English (additional European languages are advantageous but not required)
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value
- Commercial mindset with an interest in sales and customer outcomes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-changing environment

Technical skills:
- Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies (including SharePoint Online)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and identity technologies (e.g. Entra ID)
- Understanding of identity, access and permissions management
- Familiarity with networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, SMTP, DHCP)
- Knowledge of data protection, backup, migration, and governance concepts
- Understanding of SharePoint architecture and cloud/hybrid environments
- Broader awareness of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is beneficial
