Position Overview

As a Solutions Sales Specialist – Hybrid DC & Networking, you will act as a trusted advisor to both customers/prospects and our internal sales teams.

You’ll uncover new opportunities, guide customers through their technology journey, and help deliver best-fit solutions across hybrid data centre, networking, cloud and infrastructure. This role will predominantly focus on New-Logo prospects, whitespace within existing customers, and Vendor target lists.

You’ll work collaboratively but also have the autonomy to own opportunities end-to-end, from early-stage discovery through to design, delivery, and successful adoption.

As part of this role, you will not only be supporting our VAR sales teams, but you will also have the opportunity and be expected to onboard new customers of the desired profile from the lists of target accounts provided.

Responsibilities

  • Proactive work with account managers AND direct with net new clients, calling, LinkedIn, attending vendor events/sites and working with Vendors on a shared plan.
  • Manage and achieve your individual monthly, quarterly and yearly targets.
  • Identifying, developing and managing opportunities from concept through to close, in partnership with core Account Managers.
  • Building new business through research, insight and proactive engagement with prospective customers.
  • Acting as a specialist consultant to Account Managers across the business, providing expert support and guidance.
  • Bringing deep technical understanding to help customers select the right technologies to solve real business challenges.
  • Working closely with Pre-Sales, vendors and partners to craft and deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrating a genuine passion for sales, continuous learning and personal growth.
  • Driving profitable, sustainable revenue by maximising opportunities within existing accounts and generating net-new business.
  • Managing your pipeline with accuracy, understanding KPIs, and communicating progress with clarity.
  • Championing the Advania customer journey, ensuring every interaction reflects our people-first values.
  • Successfully managing opportunities from initial scoping to production and post-sales engagement.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with our wider Solutions, Services and Sales teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • To be willing to take and able to pass all the required vendor certification and exams.
  • Understand infrastructure, the components that make up the infrastructure, how they interconnect and how these may differ across verticals.
  • Experience working with compute technologies, including both physical and virtual server environments.
  • Understand storage technologies, covering physical storage arrays as well as virtualised storage solutions.
  • Hands-on familiarity with backup solutions across physical, virtual and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of networking, including core and edge networking, SD-WAN technologies, and a good general understanding of structured cabling and how systems interconnect.
  • Experience with cloud environments, spanning on-premises, public cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Understand how workloads and applications are deployed, managed and supported in both physical and virtual infrastructures.
  • Solid grounding in software used within modern infrastructure environments.
  • Possess a general understanding of server, storage and cloud technologies, along with a high-level awareness of associated security considerations.
