Solutions Analyst

Team Overview
The Solutions Consultancy team designs and delivers credit decisioning solutions for lenders, including major UK banks and other financial institutions. Their solutions help clients make informed lending decisions by:
- Collecting data from various sources
- Applying business rules and scorecards
- Returning automated decisions to the client’s systems
The team works closely with consultants, clients, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, using industry-leading decisioning platforms. They:
- Build, configure, test, and maintain solutions supporting
- Credit risk assessment
- Affordability checks
- Lending decisions
This hybrid role, reporting to the Manager, Technical Consultant, involves:
- Regular virtual performance of job responsibilities
- In-person tasks at an assigned TransUnion office location (minimum two days per week)
Role Overview & Core Responsibilities
As a Business Systems Analyst, your core responsibilities include:
- Assist Solutions Consultants in designing high-quality software solutions
- Configure solutions within TransUnion decisioning software to meet business requirements, adhering to:
- Best practices
- Advice from Senior Solutions Analysts and Solutions Consultants
- Ensuring successful project completion
- Conduct unit testing on solutions and collaborate with the Test Team during subsequent stages
- Contribute to project documentation (including business and functional specifications)
- Participate in meetings with:
- Project teams
- External partners (as needed)
- Provide regular updates to:
- Project Manager
- Solutions Delivery Manager
- Team Lead (via reports on task progress)
- Maintain and update solution documentation through all project phases (including post-implementation)
- Support Senior Analysts and Consultants to deliver solutions effectively
- Post-delivery support to:
- Foster strong client relationships
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues (with limited assistance)
- Collaborate with colleagues in Decision Services and supporting teams to nurture collaborative relationships
- Provide additional support as required, including:
- Handling change requests
- Resolving client queries or issues
- Attend UAT (User Acceptance Testing) calls and defect management sessions
- Support the transition of projects to post-live support teams
- Learn and adhere to TransUnion’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process

Required Knowledge & Experiences
Core Qualifications
- Professional software development environment experience, including project delivery across:
- Physical teams
- Virtual teams
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to develop:
- Effective relationships with clients
- Third-party suppliers
- Problem-solving expertise, including:
- Identification of root causes
- Driving permanent resolutions and improvements
- Ability to:
- Work independently
- Manage priorities
- Deliver on deadlines with minimal supervision
- Higher Education degree (Science, Maths, Technology, or Business), or relevant industry experience
- Drive to continuously learn new skills and develop professionally

Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word)
- Programming languages (preferably one or more of):
- Python
- Java
- JavaScript (JS)
- C (or derivatives)
- Lua
- Basic testing tool knowledge (e.g., SOAP UI)
- Test process understanding
- Software configuration
- Finance and credit risk strategies familiarity (preferred)
