Contract Azure Solutions Architect

Location – Remote First – Travel to London or Macclesfield Contract Type – £600pd Outside IR35 – Initial 3 Month Opportunity

WRK Digital are proud to partner with an award-winning software and technology company. The Azure Solutions Architect role will play a key role in supporting their strategic clients and technology initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with Product, Delivery, Engineering, and client stakeholders. You’ll shape solutions, guide technical decisions, and ensure successful delivery of both client-specific and product-led initiatives.

This is a hands-on architecture role demanding a balance of technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and commercial awareness. You’ll work closely with the Head of Architecture, leading architecture discussions with clients while understanding business challenges and translating requirements into scalable, supportable solutions aligned with the company’s product strategy and technology roadmap.

  • Experience working as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar senior technology role
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, integration patterns, and cloud technologies
  • Microsoft Azure expertise, particularly with modern application architectures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience producing architecture artefacts and leading design discussions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while working across multiple teams
  • Comfortable representing the organisation in technical discussions

Key Responsibilities

Client-focused leadership

  • Lead architecture discussions and solution design for strategic clients and programmes
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders (technology, delivery, and business teams)

Technical oversight

  • Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions, and solution reviews
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including:
    • Solution designs
    • Integration patterns
    • Decision records
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight of:
    • Application architectures
    • Integration patterns
    • Infrastructure design
    • Data architectures

** Client and product alignment**

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to define balanced solutions
  • Support Delivery teams by identifying technical risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans
  • Lead client onboarding, technology migrations, and large-scale change initiatives
  • Review proposed solutions for security, scalability, resilience, and supportability

Governance and presentation support

  • Contribute to architecture governance and technology strategy
  • Assist in client demonstrations and technical due diligence when needed

Travel requirement

  • Open to travelling at the request of clients for key engagements.
