Solution Architect
Outside IR35
Location: Hybrid (UK)

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a growing architecture function, taking ownership of the technical roadmap and helping shape enterprise technology strategy across a modern Microsoft estate.
This role will see you working closely with IT Leadership, Programme Managers, Product Owners and Engineering teams to design scalable, secure and compliant technology solutions that support major business transformation initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for an architect with strong Microsoft expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, Purview and Dynamics 365 who enjoys influencing technical direction and working across multiple programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop solution architecture across multiple business initiatives.
- Design scalable, secure and cost-effective enterprise solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Produce high-level solution designs, architecture documentation and technical roadmaps.
- Define and maintain architecture standards, governance and best practice.
- Work with project teams throughout the full project lifecycle from discovery through to implementation.
- Provide architectural guidance to delivery teams operating within Agile environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to balance business requirements with technical capability.
- Present architecture proposals and recommendations to senior leadership and governance boards.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of enterprise architecture strategy and technology roadmaps.

Microsoft Technology Responsibilities
You’ll provide architectural leadership across a broad Microsoft technology stack including:
- Azure Infrastructure
- Microsoft Purview
- Microsoft 365 Collaboration (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive)
- Dynamics 365 (Finance, Operations, Sales and Customer Service)
Responsibilities include:
- Designing Azure infrastructure solutions covering networking, identity, compute, storage and security.
- Defining enterprise data governance and compliance strategies using Microsoft Purview.
- Leading the architecture of Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.
- Providing architectural oversight across Dynamics 365 implementations and integrations.
- Supporting API-first integration strategies and modern cloud architecture.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
You’ll ideally have experience with:
- Enterprise Solution Architecture
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Purview
- Dynamics 365
- Azure DevOps and GitHub
- API-led architecture
- Microservices
- Enterprise integration patterns
- Data architecture and governance
- Cloud security architecture
- Agile delivery environments
- Technical governance and architecture frameworks

Experience within Financial Services, Banking or other highly regulated environments would be highly advantageous.
Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering solution architecture across large-scale enterprise programmes.
- Experience working through the complete project lifecycle.
- Strong technical design and architecture experience.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance and best practice.
- Experience working closely with business and technical stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable
- TOGAF Foundation or TOGAF Certified.
- Experience within Banking, Financial Services or Payments.
- Knowledge of Digital Commerce platforms.
- Experience with Common Data Model for Financial Services.
- Understanding of messaging technologies, ESBs and event-driven architecture.
