Solution Architect Roles in Government Projects
We are seeking multiple Solution Architect’s, to work across a suite of government based projects in a newly formed innovation arena. Playing a key role in defining the technical direction of a large-scale, highly secure software platform.
This role would suit someone who has progressed from a strong Software Engineering background into Solution Architecture. They're looking for someone who still understands what good engineering looks like, enjoys working closely with development teams and can make pragmatic architectural decisions that support long-term product growth.
The successful candidates will work on cutting-edge projects within the security and defence sectors, providing innovative software solutions to critical national infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity and security in everything you do.
- You'll take ownership of the architecture strategy, technology roadmap and technical governance, while mentoring engineers and helping evolve a modern platform built predominantly in Python.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
