Solutions Architect – The Convergence Group
At Convergence Group, we’ve spent 20+ years building a business fuelled by ambition, innovation, and exceptional people. We design and manage enterprise WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi and Security solutions for the UK’s most challenging organisations—and we’re growing rapidly. We’re now looking for a Solutions Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping customer outcomes and driving technical excellence.
What it’s really like here
The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically 30% greater than many roles elsewhere—not because we’re chaotic, but because we deliver exceptional, evolving solutions. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating and raising standards.
- Higher standards, faster evolutions: The landscape shifts constantly. If you thrive in ambitious, dynamic environments, this could be your profession. If you prefer predictability and stability, this won’t be a match.
- Respectful honesty: At Convergence, curiosity and learning drive success—not ego. You’ll be challenged to refine your critical thinking, adaptability and collaborative problem-solving.
- Impact through growth: The right talent here gets accelerated development, meaningful roles and career progression.
This isn’t for everyone—but for the best, it’s the ultimate opportunity for impact, growth, and influence.
What you’ll do
- Design cutting-edge LAN and WAN solutions tailored to our industry-leading portfolio of products and services.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account teams to understand customer needs, attend critical meetings, and drive technical sales pitches.
- Lead technical conversations with clients, staying ahead of their needs while simplifying complex solutions to build trust.
- Develop high-impact documentation including Statement of Works (SOWs), High-Level Designs (HLDs), and detailed schematics reviewed by customers.
- Champion cross-functional win strategies, working with Sales, Service Delivery, and Account Management teams to seal multi-million-pound contracts (targeted £1M+ Gross Margin annually in contribution).
- Optimise profitability of every solution, ensuring high availability, security, long-term scalability, and lasting value.
- Manage CRM activity diligently, ensuring a consistent and profitable pipeline.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
