Solution Architect
Location: London (Hybrid Working)
Salary: Circa £120k + bonus + benefits
The Opportunity
We're partnering with a leading financial services company to hire a Solution Architect into their London-based Architecture practice within Group IT.
You will curate solution architecture designs across all lines of business, provide hands-on consultancy to project teams delivering cloud, on-premises and hybrid solutions, and act as a trusted technical partner to business relationship managers, product owners, and delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and own solution architecture designs across multiple lines of business
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear architectural blueprints
- Perform threat modelling and author/maintain architecture guidelines and patterns
- Provide solution architecture consultancy to project teams across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid delivery
- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, security, regulatory, and risk requirements
- Work closely with BRMs, product owners, and product managers to support future business requirements
- Contribute to a shared community of practice, sharing reusable solutions and lessons learned

Key Requirements
- 5+ years' experience across at least two IT solution disciplines - technical/infrastructure architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management, or cloud development
- Strong backend skills in one or more of C#, Java, Python, Go, or Rust
- Working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle
- Broad, hands-on exposure to cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
- Experience with architecture modelling approaches such as ArchiMate, UML, or equivalent
- Experience producing solution designs and documentation for governance/design authority sign-off
- Understanding of SDLC, deployment pipelines, and modern engineering/DevOps practices
- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models
