Solutions Architect
Defence | National Security | Secure Information Exchange
Location: UK (Home Based with UK Travel)
Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Benefits
Some Solutions Architecture roles are about maintaining existing platforms. This one is about helping design the next generation of Defence capability.
Our client is a specialist technology consultancy delivering secure information exchange solutions into Defence, National Security and other highly regulated environments. Their work supports some of the UK's most complex programmes, helping organisations securely share information, integrate systems and develop innovative capabilities for tomorrow's operational challenges.
As the team continues to grow, they're looking for a Solution Architect to work alongside senior architects, engineers and customers to design secure, integrated technical solutions across Defence experimentation, capability development and operational programmes.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work on genuinely interesting architecture challenges where you'll bridge operational requirements and technical delivery.

You'll be supported by experienced Principal Architects whilst having the autonomy to own architectural workstreams and influence technical decisions across multiple programmes.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing secure solution architectures for Defence and National Security programmes
- Working with customers to understand operational and technical requirements
- Producing high-level solution designs and technical architecture documentation
- Supporting systems integration and interoperability across complex environments
- Collaborating with software engineers, cyber specialists and project teams throughout delivery
- Contributing to technical workshops, design reviews and architecture governance
- Supporting experimentation activities, capability development and emerging technologies
- Assisting with technical proposals and customer engagements where appropriate.
About You
You'll enjoy solving complex technical problems and working collaboratively with customers and delivery teams to create practical, secure solutions.
We're interested in people with experience in several of the following:
- Solution Architecture
- Systems Engineering
- Technical Consultancy
- Systems Integration
- Secure or regulated environments
- Defence, Government or National Security programmes
- Customer-facing technical roles
- Requirements capture and solution design
- Cloud and hybrid architectures
- Secure-by-Design principles

Experience with Defence standards, Information Assurance, NCSC guidance, ISO 27001, interoperability or secure information exchange would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
