Cloud Solutions Architect – Azure Data & Microsoft Fabric
📍 Fareham, Hampshire (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)
💰 £75,000 – £80,000 + Commission + Excellent Benefits
Are you an experienced Azure Data professional looking for an opportunity to shape cloud transformation projects from concept to delivery?
We're seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join a growing Professional Services team, helping customers unlock the full value of Microsoft Azure Data Services and Microsoft Fabric. This is a highly visible role combining technical pre-sales, solution architecture, and hands-on delivery, allowing you to influence customer outcomes whilst helping to shape future service offerings.
The Opportunity
Working closely with sales teams, customers and technical stakeholders, you will design and deliver modern data platforms using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. You'll act as a trusted advisor throughout the customer journey, from discovery workshops and solution design through to deployment and optimisation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing customer-facing architecture with technical delivery and has a passion for helping organisations modernise their data estates.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Pre-Sales
- Engage with customers to understand business and technical requirements.
- Design Azure-based data and analytics solutions aligned to customer objectives.
- Support bids, proposals and technical pre-sales engagements.
- Produce solution designs, project scopes and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.

Technical Delivery
- Design, build and optimise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Services.
- Develop scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation and analytics.
- Implement Fabric components including:
- Lakehouses
- Data Warehouses
- Real-Time Analytics
- OneLake architectures
- Develop and maintain data models and curated datasets.
- Implement monitoring, quality controls and performance optimisation.
- Deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed standards.
Service Development & Leadership
- Contribute to the development of new professional service offerings.
- Mentor and support junior consultants and engineers.
- Promote technical best practice and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with Azure, Fabric and data platform innovations.
- Support compliance with quality and information security standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- 3+ years' experience delivering Azure-focused data engineering, analytics or BI projects.
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Data warehousing and analytics solutions
- Previous consultancy, customer-facing or professional services experience.
- Experience writing high-level and detailed solution designs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting technical sales or pre-sales engagements.
- At least three current Microsoft Associate-level certifications.

Highly Desirable
- Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
- Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
- Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
- Azure Solutions Architect or additional Azure Data certifications
- Experience mentoring junior team members
- Exposure to ISO27001, ISO9001, ITIL or ISO20000 environments
