About The Role

As a Solutions Designer, you will support sales teams by designing and pricing solutions that meet customer needs across BT’s portfolio. You’ll work closely with account managers, sales specialists, and internal teams to turn customer requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions. This role is best suited to someone early in their career.

The role plays an important part in helping BT win and grow business by ensuring solutions are well-designed, competitive, and deliver value for customers. You will contribute to both new customer acquisition and growth within existing accounts, supporting consistent and high-quality sales outcomes. You’ll develop your expertise in a specific technology area while building a broader understanding of BT’s products and services, helping to create integrated solutions that deliver the best outcomes for customers.

You must be eligible for SC level vetting for this role which requires at least 5 years continuous residence in the UK.

What You'l Be Doing

  • Support sales teams in qualifying customer opportunities and understanding requirements
  • Translate customer needs into solution designs using BT products and services
  • Review customer environments to ensure solutions are appropriate and effective
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and vendors to build suitable solutions
  • Create pricing for standard products and contribute to overall solution pricing
  • Use pricing tools and follow governance processes to ensure accurate and compliant proposals
  • Develop clear and compelling proposal documentation for customer engagement
  • Refine solutions and pricing based on customer feedback and requirements
  • Prepare order documentation and support the transition to delivery teams
  • Assist with order processing across relevant systems where required

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Experience in a sales, technical support, or service environment
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications, IT services, or related technologies
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into solutions
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Good organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across teams
  • Confidence to challenge and ask questions to improve outcomes

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience working with telecommunications or IT vendors/partners
  • Understanding of solution design, pricing, or bid support processes
  • Knowledge of BT products or similar industry offerings
  • Relevant qualification in IT, telecommunications, or a related field
