Solutions Developer
Solution Developer - BAE Systems
Filton (5 days onsite)
12 Month Contract
PAYE: £53.73 per hour | Umbrella: £72.54 per hour
SC Clearance required (or ability to obtain)
I'm currently recruiting for a Solution Developer to join BAE Systems on a long-term contract supporting the development and integration of tactical military communications systems within a lab-based engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with systems integration, communications engineering, networking, or military communications experience.
The Role
You'll play a key role in integrating hardware and software components into advanced tactical communication solutions, working closely with Solution Architects, Test Engineers, and wider engineering teams to deliver complex defence capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Integrate hardware and software into tactical military communication systems
- Support system architecture and lower-level system design activities
- Develop and integrate communication solutions against defined designs
- Perform unit testing, debugging, verification and validation activities
- Support test definition and execution activities
- Collaborate with engineering and project stakeholders to realise system requirements into operational solutions
Essential Experience
- Systems integration within communications or defence environments
- Tactical radio experience (HF, VHF, UHF, MESH or MANET)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- Windows and/or Linux environments
- Experience integrating and testing ATAK applications and plugins
- Agile delivery environments
- Basic knowledge of JSON, Command Prompt and PowerShell
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Desirable
- Ex-military background or experience working within military environments
- Hands-on deployment and fault-finding experience in field-based communications environments
Additional Information
- Full-time onsite in Filton, 5 days per week
- Approx. 2-3 weeks initial training/upskilling in Christchurch before starting onsite in Filton
- SC Clearance required
