Help us drive revenue growth!

You win when our AE wins. We're looking for our first dedicated Solutions Engineer to convert Tiptap users and prospects into customers. You will work closely with the entire team, sharing your unique insights from sales meetings and your daily work with users to help us continue building something people want.

The core problem we're solving

Millions of people and AI agents around the world are working with the same thing right now: text documents. Humans interact with them through a rich text editor in the browser. Agents interact with them through APIs and structured data like JSON.

While the vast majority of users have no idea about the underlying technology, and even most web-savvy people think of a text editor as a simple piece of HTML, most of the content on the web comes through them.

And while it always seems like an easy problem to solve for web developers at first, it's extremely difficult and finicky to do well, even in the age of agentic coding and especially when you need to build more sophisticated agentic document workflows or editor UIs like Google Docs or Notion do.

Let's describe it like this: building document editing tools yourself feels like a Rubik's Cube that's almost solved. But if you don't know the formula for solving a Rubik's Cube, every turn you make makes it worse while you think you're getting closer. At some point it breaks you.

That's why we built Tiptap. Transforming this complexity into fun.

About Tiptap

Chances are high that you've already used Tiptap without knowing it in one of the apps you have open daily. With 37k GitHub stars and over 45M npm downloads per month, Tiptap is the most popular open-source editor framework worldwide, used by tens of thousands of businesses such as Anthropic, Spotify, and GitLab to build advanced content editing experiences into their apps.

With our paid offerings, we are striving to build the leading ecosystem of services around rich text documents, created and processed by humans and AI agents. Our mission is to shape the future of how content is created on the web. Sounds too bold? Indeed, it is!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your impact

Your daily work affects how businesses around the world succeed with Tiptap. This huge responsibility comes with one major benefit: impact! Every call you join, every demo you build, every prospect you unblock turns into revenue, into products our customers ship, and into the signal that shapes our roadmap.

Our Core Values

  • Open Source: We believe in the power of open source and community collaboration.
  • Transparency: We share knowledge openly.
  • Autonomy and Impact: Your work directly influences the experience of every person who develops with Tiptap (which is a lot).
  • Problem-Solving: We encourage rapid iteration and continuous learning to solve the web's biggest challenges.
  • High agency: We're active, resourceful, and biased toward action to find or create ways to achieve goals.

Our Tech Stack

To make sure you don't regret joining Tiptap, here's our tech stack:

  • Languages: Java
  • Frameworks: Zend, jQuery, AngularJS
  • Databases: Oracle

Hell, just kidding! You'll find the real expectations below in Qualifications.

Hackathons

Four times a year, we host five-day hackathons in person at our Berlin HQ, travel covered. The purpose of the hackathon is to:

  1. Strengthen our team culture
  2. Hack and experiment with cutting-edge technologies and use cases around content editing
  3. Celebrate our achievements

Responsibilities

  • Represent the technical side on customer calls alongside our AE, Tim, mostly with US prospects
  • Build live demos and code samples that move active deals forward
  • Run technical deep-dives with prospect engineering teams
  • Guide prospects who don't yet know what to build. Most don't, and that's where you create value
  • Feed customer signal back into product, closing the loop on the roadmap

Qualifications

  • You're proficient in JavaScript / TypeScript and can write clean code and prototype customer-facing applications quickly.
  • You've got hands-on React and Node.js experience across frontend and backend. Enough to build a convincing live demo, debug a prospect's integration on a call, and answer technical questions with depth.
  • You have proven customer-facing experience in a technical role like Sales / Solutions Engineering, DevRel, Forward Deployed Engineering, or as a Founding Engineer or technical co-founder.
  • AI-native daily workflow: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools are an established part of how you work.
  • You've integrated LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or similar) hands-on, ideally in a customer-facing or product context.
  • Native or near-native English. The vast majority of customer conversations are conducted in English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Clear, precise, and able to translate complex technical topics for an engineering audience.
  • A strong sense of ownership: you take initiative, structure your own work, and bring clarity to ambiguity in an early-stage environment.

Bonus

  • You have used Tiptap, ProseMirror, Yjs, Lexical, Slate, or other rich-text frameworks in production.
  • You've owned a customer relationship end to end, not just the code: your own company (exit, pivot, or honest flameout), a paid product you sold and supported, or an OSS project people depend on.
  • You have written publicly: blog, conference talks, Reddit.
  • You're familiar with collaborative editing, CRDTs, or real-time sync architectures.

Here's how it works

Sounds like a good fit? Write why you want to work with us. We would be more than proud if you would like to be part of our team, and we are looking forward to meeting you soon! IMPORTANT: Tell us in your application if you prefer tabs or spaces. We won't judge you, we promise!

Next steps:

  1. Apply: We will review your application and typically respond to your email within 5 days.
  2. Intro Call: If we like your application, we will have a 30-minute video call to explore mutual fit.
  3. Deep Dive: If we both want to take it to the next level, we will have a 45–60-minute video call to talk about sales and engineering in detail and your past achievements.
  4. Trial Day: You'll join our team for a day (paid) to work on a task to provide you with a realistic view of what it's like to work at Tiptap, and of course we're more than curious to get your honest feedback!
  5. Offer: We aim to make a decision and offer no later than a few days after your trial day to get you onboarded quickly.

Your first time at Tiptap

We'll get you set up before day one, equipment and welcome package included, so you're ready to go from the start. Day one you're already in real sales calls next to our AE and engineers, learning the product and the customers fast. Your first month is hands-on: building demos, writing code, talking to prospects, owning it from the start.

We look forward to receiving your application!
