Solutions Engineer - Solar PV & Energy Storage

Are you passionate about solar energy, battery storage and helping customers get the very best from innovative technology?
We're looking for a Solutions Engineer to play a key role in supporting the growth of a market-leading renewable energy business across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise, customer engagement and training delivery while working with cutting-edge inverter and energy storage technologies.
You'll become the trusted technical advisor for installers, distributors and sales teams, helping drive product adoption and ensuring customers receive world-class support throughout their journey.
The Opportunity
As a Solutions Engineer, you will be the bridge between customers, sales teams and product specialists, providing technical guidance on residential and commercial solar PV and battery storage projects.
This is a highly visible role where you'll engage directly with installers, distributors and EPCs, delivering training, supporting system designs and helping shape future product development through valuable market feedback.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Training & Education
- Deliver engaging product and technical training sessions to installers and distribution partners.
- Conduct both in-person and online training workshops.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, presentations and training materials.
- Ensure installation partners are fully equipped to install, commission and troubleshoot products confidently.
Design & Technical Support
- Support installers with residential and commercial PV and battery storage system designs.
- Review system configurations and layouts to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance across inverter, battery storage and monitoring solutions.
- Assist customers with complex technical enquiries and integration challenges.

Customer & Commercial Support
- Accompany sales teams on customer visits and technical presentations.
- Deliver product demonstrations and technical workshops.
- Act as a trusted advisor to installers, distributors and EPC customers.
- Build long-term relationships with key partners throughout the UK market.
Market Intelligence & Product Feedback
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity and installer requirements.
- Gather customer and field feedback to support future product enhancements.
- Identify emerging opportunities within the solar and energy storage sector.
- Provide regular technical and market insights to leadership and product teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Technical Support and Sales teams.
- Assist with webinars, trade exhibitions, conferences and customer events.
- Contribute technical content for marketing campaigns and customer communications.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- β Experience with solar PV inverters and battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- β Strong understanding of residential and commercial solar installations
- β Experience designing and supporting PV and energy storage systems
- β Excellent presentation, training and communication skills
- β Proven customer-facing technical support experience
- β Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- β Experience working with installers, distributors or technical sales teams
- β Full UK driving licence
- β Willingness to travel regularly across the UK

Desirable
- Knowledge of UK grid regulations and installation standards
- Experience with monitoring platforms and communication protocols
- Previous experience working for a solar inverter, battery storage or renewable energy manufacturer
- Electrical qualifications or an Engineering degree
