Solvency II / Syndicate & Non-SII Reporting Consultant

Location: London (hybrid working)

The Role:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Solvency II / Syndicate & Non-SII Reporting professional to join Robert Walters as a Consultant. As a Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and will be deployed on an assignment within our clients' organisations, in return we will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills with ongoing training and professional support.

As a Solvency II / Syndicate & Non-SII Reporting Consultant, you will support the Finance workstream, to analyse and document Finance processes and regulatory reporting requirements, identifying the changes needed to support the SPA operating model.

The scope of the role includes process mapping and regulatory reporting both for Solvency II (50%) and non-SII (100%) such as Syndicate accounts, QMA, QMB and RRQ returns. The role will work closely with Finance, Regulatory Reporting and Actuarial SMEs, alongside Project Delivery, Technology and Operations teams, to define future-state processes, accounting treatments, reporting requirements and system impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document current and future-state Finance and regulatory reporting processes, identifying changes required to support the Special Purpose Arrangement (SPA)
  • Map end-to-end Finance data and process flows, including premiums, claims, reinsurance, cash, general ledger, financial reporting and Solvency II reporting
  • Partner with SMEs to define and document accounting treatments, journal flows and regulatory reporting outputs across impacted systems
  • Identify process dependencies, controls, hand-offs and upstream/downstream impacts across Finance and reporting activities
  • Support impact assessments by documenting changes to processes, systems, controls, data flows and operating procedures
  • Contribute to target operating model design, reporting frameworks and business readiness activities

Qualification/Essential Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong insurance industry experience, ideally within the Lloyd's and/or reinsurance market
  • Proven track record of documenting Finance processes, regulatory reporting requirements and operating models within transformation programmes
  • Hands on experience in preparing syndicate accounts and returns
  • Strong understanding of insurance accounting, including premiums, claims, reinsurance, settlements, financial reporting and Solvency II
  • Experience with one or more of the following (or similar) platforms: Oracle Fusion General Ledger, TM1, HFM, BlackLine, QFleks, Data Hub, Enterprise Integration, Financial Data Warehouse and Duck Creek Reinsurance
  • Experience supporting Solvency II reporting, regulatory returns and associated data requirements
  • Familiarity with funds withheld reinsurance arrangements and related accounting and reporting considerations
